Do you sense it? A “Quickening” ?

For weeks (maybe even months) I’ve sensed it.

Beyond that I’ve heard it as if it were a whisper in the wind.

The word: “Quickening”

I know a lot of people are reluctant to talk about The End of Days or End Times or The Tribulation. I imagine it frightens them. When I’ve accidentally happened upon the topic in conversation I hear:

 

  • “I don’t want to think about it,”

  • “I don’t want to talk about it,”

  • “It’s never gonna happen, it hasn’t for millennia”

  • “If God was coming, He would have come by now.”

The hard truth and reality is people (surrounded by a comfortable culture) don’t want to think or talk about something that might compromise, challenge or cause them to forfeit creature comforts.

Look at the bullet points above. And then consider what you might have to DO if you found out you were terminally ill? You WOULD have to THINK, TALK and PLAN for what was imminent…for what was coming.  While mankind has been given a time frame of 120 years maximum to live….

3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.”

 

….not everyone gets to fully live out that amount of TIME.

Let’s cover a few bases here. Most people “Look” at The End of Days or “The End Times” as the End of Life. Granted the Book of Revelations is the last Book of the Bible. Appropriately so. The Book of Revelation is God’s Climax and Denouement to the Life we See. That doesn’t mean it’s the end of Life. God is Life as we know it and His plans are bigger (and always have been) since long before you and I ever showed up.

Back on Track: The word “Quickening”

The term “Quickening” came up in a phone call with a friend yesterday.

I’ve had this innate sense that time has sped up. It’s not something you can see on a clock or easily identify. It’s something that exists as an internal alarm.

I have friends who say that the Church, God’s people have fallen asleep. God warned this might happen and He specifically said at some point we would need to WAKE UP.

 

The Message to the Church in Sardis

3 “Write this letter to the angel[a] of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit[b] of God and the seven stars:

“I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. 3 Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.

4 “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5 All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.

6 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

As many times as I have heard friends acknowledge that it’s important we WAKE UP it wasn’t until the point that I started to “sense” this “Quickening” that I realized – MAYBE there is more to what’s going on ALL Around us than WE want to admit.

Quickening is normally related to the time before a woman goes into Labor. It’s a time when the birth pains start.

But as time goes on and Labor goes on there is a “quickening” in events.

Things happen faster, more frequently. Strange things can happen. Shocking. Attention getting.

“The Quickening” and “Wake Up” calls aren’t meant to frighten us…they are (more or less) an alarm clock.

I’m pretty sure the cycle of Blood Moons officially ushered in the process. I’m not here to say WHAT the implications of the Blood Moons are but as an observer of what is happening ALL around the WORLD, something is going on.

Yes, it is easy enough to attribute all the phenomenas to science and the process of life. God knows THAT, He IS bigger than that.

If this is a “Quickening” of God’s timetable, and it’s His call for us to Wake Up…I have to ask if you not only believe in God, but if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior?

It’s not hard. But the word repent is a small word with BIG implications.

If and when God does Rapture His Church (be it pre-tribulation or mid-tribulation) will you be ready?

Here is a simple prayer to get you there:

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.

Amen.

 

Let me also say, there are scoffers out there. People who, as I mentioned above do not believe Jesus will come back for His Church. I have met and known many that feel this way or don’t want to believe it could happen in our lifetime.

 

I’m not saying it will….But, what if it does? What if it did?

What if there is a chance, no matter how slight…that it could happen?

I don’t want to see anyone perish, but it isn’t my decision….it’s yours.

  2. Well said. I’ve been feeling that “quickening” for about two years. It’s happening. That’s part of the reason I think it’s so important for us to watch what’s going on in the world. Watch ye therefore, for no one knows when the master of the house cometh.

  3. Kenzel, you have said well. Jesus is coming soon! I, too, have felt the nearness of His presence in a different way than before. I can remember my grandmother saying, “Oh, I’ve heard that all my life, and He hasn’t come yet.” So those comments have been spoken through the ages. Still, time is drawing closer with each passing day. Thank you for sharing your heart and sounding the “alarm” we all need to hear.

  5. Yes, something is indeed coming, and it will be in our lifetime. The spirit of warning briefly alighted on me on the 12th of Nov – the day before the Paris attacks and I posted an entry on my blog, not knowing what the 13th was to bring. Before this, I had never been forewarned about something in a foreign country; any intuition has always been about personal matters. But to get it on the 12th indicates that the wings of warning are spreading. As you have said, Kenzel, time is short. Prayers for the scoffers are very much in need. Prayers unleash the power of the Holy Spirit which far surpasses anything else. So, we must pray while we can.

    • I received a call to pray (w/weeping, grieving, mourning) on the morning of Nov 13th. It shook me to the core. Whether it was for Paris is another question.
      Something is looming, though. I hear the call for intercessory prayer often. I don’t know enough about praying in the spirit, though I’m trying.
      I agree with what you’ve said….something is going on in the “otherealm” that has me (& I’m gathering many others) on high alert.

      • Kenzel, this is from a Catholic perspective, so feel free to delete my comment if you’re not comfortable with it.

        I’ve gotten into some twists over Praying In The Spirit. Catholic Charismatics have tried to help me understand the dynamics of such a prayer but it didn’t get any clearer.
        Until this year. On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross on Sept 14th, I heard an unseen voice tell me, Mother, I commend my spirit into Your Hands . (I’ve blogged about it under Triumph of the Holy Cross, in my blog). As I’m Catholic, I understood it to mean that I was to surrender my will to Mother Mary, and to let her guide me.

        It’s been more than 2 months of saying that prayer, and I see something has changed. I think praying in the Spirit means to fuse my Prayer Will with, in my case, the Holy Mother’s – to let her guide my prayer direction. This was a stunning realization because I’m too strong-willed for my own good, and it had spilled over into my prayer life – but to my detriment. I was corralling and shepherding my prayers; I wasn’t going where I was needed.

        But that prayer changed it all for me. I hope this helps some, Kenzel. God bless you.

        First, Thankyou for sharing.
        My dad was a non practicing Catholic. I went through a year long bible reading plan a couple years back (talk about eye-opening, jaw dropping education).
        My mom raised me Lutheran but my official “walk” started in ~’07. The more I read scripture the more I understand God’s nature & his well for my life. When I truly take every thought captive & submit it back to him I am floored at how he will reveal more of himself to me & bless me with direction. It really is true that when I “fix my eyes” on him…he follows through on his promises.
